Roadtripping

Yesterday we welcomed a new family member to our home.
He (I think he is a boy) is six years old, and has taken up residence in my driveway, He is a huge unit, drinks like a fish, is very powerful, and is a ginger to boot.

Merry Boxing Day

Merry Christmas +1 to everyone!

What did you get up to? I stayed up until 2am on Christmas morning, roasting a deboned turkey (looked sort of like it had been steam-rolled)

May 13 - I SPY
I spy with my little eye, a little lady who was meant to be hiding behind a tree but took matters into her own hands.
This was taken at Lake Weeroona during a family walk. It took many tries before I could get a photo that didn't have a random dog, or person or something weird in it. I'm not sure what the green band is, but I liked it so it stayed.

May 12 - READY
Honey was ready to go, and was impatiently waiting for the rest of us to get a wriggle on so we could walk to the park.

May 11 - MOTHER
This is my lovely mother at the taping of Dirty Laundry Live at the ABC studios in Elsternwick. The Man was meant to come with me but backed out because he went to a seminar, so I took Mum instead. I ended up with a parking ticket, but it was a good night otherwise.
**one of the people in the above image is not a cardboard cut out.

May 10 - IN THE GARDEN
On May 10th, the actual day I was supposed to take this photo, I was inside the Bendigo Stadium at a roller derby bout, with not a flower or blade of grass in sight, so this photo was taken outside the Bendigo Library in the autumn leaves.

May 9 - FAVOURITE
These are my favourite people hanging out at the playground at Lake Weeroona. I couldn't get everyone to look at the camera at the same time, so I got everyone to look away from the camera. Skill!

May 4 - US
Me and The Man. I do like him a bit.
Poor guy was forced to take a selfie.
At least he's smiling! And at least he's not holding a teacup or something else to take the focus off himself.
I did my makeup especially for this photo. In real life I don't really have eyebrows.

April 22 - FOUR THINGS
Went out for dinner tonight and these four things were given to Honey to draw with while she waited for her dinner to come. I didn't even break the crayon to make the 4. Lucky!

 April 17 - SOMETHING I LEARNED
Today I learned that it takes a lot of people to look after a little boy who is overtired and held up on a delayed V/Line train. The train must have been running an hour late and Buddy was not having it. We walked up and down the train carriage so many time that I lost count. It's lucky he is a bit cute and he really didn't launch into a real protest about not being allowed off the train (although he tried and tried to escape)

March 24 - ONE OF A KIND
This is Gussy. He is my youngest furry son and definitely one of a kind. In this photo he wanted some food from The Man. Gus is nothing if not dedicated to the cause of stray food ending up in his belly.

March 21 - FULL
I went to Llanelly which is not too far away from Bendigo yesterday, to visit my family who were at a motorcycle rally.
I was already feeling guilty that I hadn't taken a photo on 21 March (Friday), but I was busy and had a case of the can't-be-bothereds.
But here is a plastic container FULL of spoons.

March 5 - SOMETHING BEGINNING WITH I
An inconvenient, irksome, intolerable invasion of individual space while The Man attempts to use the iPad.

February 25 - CUT
I am going back over my FMS photos and writing a little blurb about each one.
I've come to this photo and I have no idea what the prompt was (I since looked on the FMS blog and saw that it was 'cut').
I remember that I tried to get a photo of The Man cutting some paper and the paper dropping to the ground, but he kept doing it with our messy messy kitchen in the background and it looked shizen, so in the end I got sick of it all and took a photo of one of the bits of paper.
I should have gotten Honey to cut something. She loves scissors.

Feb 16 - CREATE
I usually love to make things, cook things and do things, but today I don't think I've done anything creative at all - so here is a mask that I decorated for a masquerade ball that I went to a few years ago. It must have been 2012, because Honey was there, but Buddy wasn't.

Australia Day "Holiday"

Hello.
My name is Ninja Mummy and its been 27 days since I've felt the sweet embrace of Coca Cola.
It's been a hard journey, but it's getting easier every day.
I've been substituting Coca Cola with Pepsi, but as they taste completely different, it's just not the same. Not bad, but it's like coffee and tea, you either like one or the other.
Coca Cola is everywhere.
Yesterday at the Australia Day celebrations in Melbourne I forgot to take a drink and my only options to buy a drink (without having to walk forever) was Pepsi (which I'm not wild about as you'd have gathered), Fanta, Solo and the old favourite Coke (or water, but water gets a bit boring sometimes all the time) I ended up doing a walk-past by all the food vans until I found a can of Sprite. Then I topped up my empty can with someone else's lemon mineral water.
Today I did the food shopping while the midgets stayed at home with The Man. I came home to Honey in just her knickers and Buddy trying to scoot in his wagon. Right now Honey is wearing my glasses pretending to be me (Look at me, I'm Mummy) and Buddy is climbing me and blowing raspberries on me.

Photo bomb - Jan 26 2014 (Australia Day)

Jan 26 - FUN STUFF!
Today we went to Melbourne for an Australia Day picnic in the Queen Victoria Gardens.
**I literally work 5 minutes away from these gardens and I never knew they were called this
While wandering around, Honey and I stumbled upon a piano that was out in the open which was a part of the 'Play Me I'm Yours' piano project.
I have a feeling that a random piano we found outside a noodle shop in Glenelg, in Adelaide last year, was a part of this project too...
We had good times with Honey playing and singing and me having a go at remembering the music I learnt for years when I was a kid.
I've now decided that when I have a bigger house, I want an upright piano like this one.
