Fitness? Schmitness!

For the last two weeks (or thereabouts) I've been trying to become fitter, and to lose weight.
Apart from the great chocolate cake investigation, where I was trying to find an edible sugar-free chocolate cake, I have been eating really really well. Hardly any carbs, minimal sugar, vegies galore and more water than you'd believe. I've cut out my normal sugary white tea and porridge for breakfast and having green tea and weight loss smoothies instead. No bread, no pasta, no rice, no potatoes, etc etc etc.
I've been walking and skating and generally moving all the time - Buddy has started walking all the time so chasing him has helped.
Last night I attempted my Level 2 test for roller derby and ended up absolutely knackered and my legs felt like jelly.
Afterwards I weighed myself to see how the weight loss is going, and I've gained a kilogram.

Maybe weight loss is not for me?

PS I still have not passed my Level 2 roller derby test.

May 27 - MEAL
I met The Man in town today during his lunch break. We went to a bakery where he bought himself some lunch, then scurried back to work. I came home to a hearty meal of air pie. Yum yum!

Slapped hand!

Oops.
For the first time in years of blogging, I have had my hand slapped for posting up a photo that's not mine.
So if you you wanted to see the Shakshuka recipe that I posted last week, I've had to take it down because the photo I put with it came from the original recipe. Never mind I linked to it twice within the post.
Anyway, as I can't afford getting into a cyber brawl, I will wait until payday and then purchase more ingredients to make another batch.
Hmmmmmm....

May 21 - CARD
This card lives on my coffee table.
I have many many sets of cards and ones such as the above card are spread across my loungeroom.
Meh.

I know! This looks terrible, that I took a photo of Buddy when he was so upset. I had just dished up his dinner and it was too hot so I put it in the freezer. So in this shot, he was waiting for about two minutes to get his dinner.

 April 17 - SOMETHING I LEARNED
Today I learned that it takes a lot of people to look after a little boy who is overtired and held up on a delayed V/Line train. The train must have been running an hour late and Buddy was not having it. We walked up and down the train carriage so many time that I lost count. It's lucky he is a bit cute and he really didn't launch into a real protest about not being allowed off the train (although he tried and tried to escape)

April 14 - DIRTY
Buddy and his cohorts (Harry and Gus) just need to look at me and I end up filthy.
These are the pants which I had just put on.

March 28 - NOSTALGIA
Once upon a time, Honey was a tiny little girl and was as sweet as sugar. Now she is almost a teenager (by her reckoning) and told me to 'shut off' today.
I sincerely hope that she meant 'shut up' and not something else...

March 17 - TODAY'S WEATHER
Today couldn't make up its mind. One minute the sky was blue and the next it had filthy black clouds, and for most of the day, it was just as it was in this photo - grey rainclouds alongside beautiful blue sky.
Crazy Bendigo weather. Crazy.

March 15 - EVENING
I had the strangest train ride home from work today. When I got on the train at Southern Cross it was still light, and when I got off the train in Bendigo it was pitch black, so this was the best I could do.

March 4 - ON MY MIND
I am searching and hoping that an opportunity for work pops up soon. My purse is feeling a bit malnourished and is the skinniest its ever been.

February 26 - LIGHT
I wanted to go outside and take a photo of the moon (moonlight!) and I asked The Man to switch off the kitchen light so I could get a photo of the moon without light contamination.
Clearly he pays attention to me.

February 25 - CUT
I am going back over my FMS photos and writing a little blurb about each one.
I've come to this photo and I have no idea what the prompt was (I since looked on the FMS blog and saw that it was 'cut').
I remember that I tried to get a photo of The Man cutting some paper and the paper dropping to the ground, but he kept doing it with our messy messy kitchen in the background and it looked shizen, so in the end I got sick of it all and took a photo of one of the bits of paper.
I should have gotten Honey to cut something. She loves scissors.

This is not a photo bomb

The Man has challenged me to only drink water and green tea this week because last night I threatened him and the midgets with ONLY CLEAN FOODS because I quit Coca Cola at New Years and I'm no lighter now than what I was then, so obviously I'm making up for it in other ways (I suspect in Lindt balls which are my new favourite thing ever).
So today I'm eating porridge with about a quarter teaspoon of brown sugar and green tea. It is an
exciting meal!
Yeah.
So does anyone know any good breakfast ideas? Because when I was a kid I'd love porridge for breakfast but now I'm getting over it quickly.
I'm thinking I could go some vegemite toast - what's the low carb clean version of that?

Feb 17 - VEGETABLE
This is a close-up of cauliflower. I wanted The Man to mash it for me instead of potatoes (following on from my healthy, low-carb eating regime). He did not mash this cauliflower and made me chips instead. He is an enabler.

I drank a glass of pineapple juice after brushing my teeth.
Big mistake.

Hi-De-Ho!

Today I am midget-less.
Sad face :(
Honey and Buddy are at their climate controlled daycare while I am trying to escape the heat at the shops. It's the second day of a 40 degree plus heat wave here in Bendigo and my house has poxy cooling, it ends up cheaper for me to hang out at the shops buying snacks and magazines than run the ceiling fans at home. In fact, I'm having my own personal film festival at the cinemas - yesterday was Saving Mr Banks, today is Anchorman, and tomorrow I may get past the idea that I am going to the movies more than once every six months and see Frozen. Or perhaps The Secret Life of Walter Mitty?
Oh! The possibilities.

Jan 13 - MADE ME SMILE
Today has been hot hot hot in Bendigo, and this Zooper Dooper was extremely welcome and made me smile.

It's New Year's Eve!

*sigh*
It's also the last day of December and I am at work, working.
My photo challenge suffered a massive technological fail and it didn't happen did it?
I promise - the photos have been taken.
The photos are on my laptop, but I have 15000 photos on there (I KNOW! How does that happen?) and I. Can't. Get. Them. To. Do. What. I. Want.
So annoyed with technology.
But here is a meme to make up for it:
I love memes. It's my new thing.

Ignore responsibilities - lie on floor

Source
So last night.

Once I signed off the internet after posting yesterday's photo bomb, I planned to go to bed, sleep restfully until 5:30am and then get up to go to the gym for the first time this week.

So didn't happen.

While I was editing photos and posting blogs about The Man and such, I was drinking most of a 2L bottle of Coca Cola, so when I went to bed at 11:10pm I was super-hyperactive and wasn't going to sleep any time soon.

And as I said yesterday there was a bird flying around my house, so before I went to bed, The Man waited outside while I searched for the bird to shoo it out of the house. I couldn't find it, so the bird is still in here, which is apparently really unlucky.

So then I went to bed, and then The Man went to bed, and the bird came swooping around my room, which gave me a surprise and banished any hope I had to going to sleep right at that moment.

Then The Man DID go to sleep and I kept hearing the bird tweeting at me, and went on a search for where it was hiding. I've discovered that the bird probably got into the house through a vent in the roof which needs to be replaced, but has not as yet. Now it is sitting in between the walls next to The Man's side of the bed and keeps mocking me. I figure it has gotten in there easily enough, so it can get itself out. I *think* the bottoms of the walls open up to underneath the house. I don't know. While it is tweeting at me, I assume it's fine. If it got from the wall in one room to a wall in another room, I assume it can get around easily enough.

Anyway. The caffiene hyperactivity wore off at about 2am and then I went to sleep, still aiming to be up for the gym and to have a little snooze afterwards.

4am. Buddy woke up. He never wakes up at 4am. Ever! Wanted his backside changed and something to eat.

Went back to sleep at 4:30am, and the next thing I knew Buddy was awake again, and The Man had gotten up for work. Which meant that I had slept through the window of opportunity to go to the gym.

Not that I would have had much fun as I feel as bright as... as bright as... I don't know. I am just knackered really.

Both midgets are sleeping and I should as well, but if I go to sleep, I am sure the two of them will wake up about a second after I close my eyes and really, why bother teasing myself with the idea of a lie down and a rest?

Ugh.
