100 Days of Happiness

Yesterday I was 'researching' ideas for ninja midgets on/at Fat Mum Slim (because Chantelle has got some really good stuff on her blog) and I came across 100 Happy Days.

May 24 - SUNRISE
The view of the sunrise on my way to work this morning.
If it weren't for the clouds, it would have looked fantastic!

May 9 - FAVOURITE
These are my favourite people hanging out at the playground at Lake Weeroona. I couldn't get everyone to look at the camera at the same time, so I got everyone to look away from the camera. Skill!

May 6 - FROM DOWN LOW
The Man is a super-giant.
Photo is edited so you can't see his belly skin.

April 26 - ENJOY THE LITTLE THINGS
Today I woke up to find Honey fiddling with my lamp and it struck me that she is getting more and more independent and less my baby girl.
I have to remember to enjoy her and Buddy while they are little because its not going to last forever.

Photo bomb - April 21 2014

April 21 - CLOSE
My driveway is a hive of ant activity. They are swarming everywhere. I stood near them, and they crawled up my legs and bit me! Little buggers.
This picture hasn't really come up well, as my camera didn't like doing ultra close ups.

Photo bomb - April 20 2014

April 20 - EGG
This is the only speckled egg left over from the Easter Bunny, and even then I had to rescue it from the clutches of The Man.

April 14 - DIRTY
Buddy and his cohorts (Harry and Gus) just need to look at me and I end up filthy.
These are the pants which I had just put on.

April 10 - MY FAVE PART OF THE DAY
This was my favourite part of today, when I got off the train at Bendigo after two days of work.
I couldn't decide whether I liked this photo in colour or black and white, so I've posted up both.
What do you think?

April 3 - SHAPES
The teddy bear and dinosaur pasta shapes are always the most popular in our house. I'd argue that the teddy bears are too cute to eat, but that means they get gobbled down all the faster. Poor teddies.

Flipped - LINE
Please excuse my crookedy photo. I was juggling the camera while holding the ruler against the wall.

March 31 - FAUX
Oooh! The girl who wears this gem is one fauxy lady!
Can you believe the stone in this ring is NOT an amethyst?
I haven't put the vignette effect on a photo in ages. It makes it look all classy and stuff.

March 25 - SOFT
Look! I sort of figured out the focus in the foreground and blurry background. Hooray!
The prompt today is 'soft' and this is Honey's Mousie (I've just been informed by The Man that he found them a little while ago sitting on the couch in Honey's room together. It's 9:30pm).
Mousie is usually very soft and since Honey was tiny she has loved cuddling with Mousie against her cheek. For a little lady who only ever sucks on her thumb when she is really really tired, Mousie is her special friend.

Fully aware that I am behind on my photos

I know, I have not posted photos over the last few (THREE!) days.
It is a side-effect of my self-imposed challenge to only use my DSLR* to take photos.
It means I need to go and get my photos off the camera and the other day I just had a serious case of the CBFs, but tonight when I get home from work I'll get my photos off the camera and put them here and I'll be right back to where I need to be.
SO this week I have been to a little tiny town called Llanelly where my dad and brother were in a motorcycle rally. The Man and I crashed their Saturday night dinner and I've convinced my dad to take Buddy and Honey for a ride on one of his motorcycles. I went for my first motorbike ride when I was three months old and its time that they had a go.
And in other news, I am thinking about my 'challenge' for the month of April. What do you reckon I should do?
Opposites?
Songs that the prompts remind me of?
All in black and white?
Having a little Lego man in each of my photos?
I don't know...
*listen to me talking fancy about photos and such. A DSLR is a digital S... L... er... R camera.

Photobomb - March 12 2014

March 12 - PARTIAL
Nope. Today's prompt has not reminded me of a song.
I had a go at creating a photo with negative space, so that the 'empty' space doesn't detract from the object in the photo - being Buddy's legs. I don't think the yellow quilt is really an empty space.
Hmmm.
Better luck next time.

March 10 - FAR AWAY
I think that this month of FMS photos shouldn't have been a challenge to use my digital camera, but a challenge to not think of a song that includes each prompt. The other day was Eminem, and today is Nickelback - I think? The Man doesn't like Nickelback, so this would be a good time to play it on YouTube.

Stand by for his reaction...

This is not posed. This is the face he pulled when Chad Kroger started singing. He's not a fan.

Photo bomb - March 1 2014

March 1 - YELLOW
Yellow there*!
This was supposed to be a forced perspective photo with the ball chasing The Man and Honey down the street.
It didn't work.
But it does look OK so here it as my FatMumSlim photo for today.
I've also started using my real camera for the March photos.
LOL - I don't even know what I'm doing.

*Once I said 'Yellow' when answering the phone at work and it was the boss on the other end and he was none-too-pleased with my lack of professionalism. Then years later when my now-husband who also worked at the same place told them I was pregnant (with Honey), he inferred that I was a teenage girl of limited morals who had trapped my husband with my web of deceit.
Perhaps true, but I wasn't a teenager at the time.

** I did not trap him with my web of deceit.
*** At least I don't think I did.

Photo bomb - Feb 28 2014

February 28 - REFLECTION
Today was Red Balloon Day in Victoria (or Australia - not sure), a day to remember and pay tribute to the emergency services who volunteer their time to protect their communities during fire season.
I spent all day trying to think of a 'reflection' photo for the prompt, and finally just before it went dark I drove around Bendigo looking for a red balloon that had survived the day to take a picture of.
This was not my first balloon. I found one in town and took it home when I pulled into the driveway saw that it had duct tape on it, so tried to peel it off gently and it popped. So then I went out again and found this balloon tied to the fence at BUPA in Holdsworth Road.
Less a photographic technique, I used an app on my iPad to make the red really vivid.

February 25 - CUT
I am going back over my FMS photos and writing a little blurb about each one.
I've come to this photo and I have no idea what the prompt was (I since looked on the FMS blog and saw that it was 'cut').
I remember that I tried to get a photo of The Man cutting some paper and the paper dropping to the ground, but he kept doing it with our messy messy kitchen in the background and it looked shizen, so in the end I got sick of it all and took a photo of one of the bits of paper.
I should have gotten Honey to cut something. She loves scissors.

February 24 - HALF
This funny lady was very happy to pose for this photograph. She thought it was HILARIOUS that I'd chopped her in half.
As you can see, I've learnt from my last Fauxtoshop effort and actually put my camera onto a flat surface before taking my photos, but the light changed so quickly that you can still see that it's two photos. Maybe I will try another tricky photo next month.
