February 28 - REFLECTION
Today was Red Balloon Day in Victoria (or Australia - not sure), a day to remember and pay tribute to the emergency services who volunteer their time to protect their communities during fire season.
I spent all day trying to think of a 'reflection' photo for the prompt, and finally just before it went dark I drove around Bendigo looking for a red balloon that had survived the day to take a picture of.
This was not my first balloon. I found one in town and took it home when I pulled into the driveway saw that it had duct tape on it, so tried to peel it off gently and it popped. So then I went out again and found this balloon tied to the fence at BUPA in Holdsworth Road.
Less a photographic technique, I used an app on my iPad to make the red really vivid.

February 27 - MY VIEW TODAY
Food. My view was Mongolian BBQ Beef cooking on the stove.
A side note, Honey is soy-intolerant. She ate this and became quite 'sick in the tummy'. I was totally baffled until I saw that one of the main ingredients in Mongolian BBQ Beef sauce sachet is soy sauce.
I'm usually so pedantic about avoiding soy.
I have no idea what I was thinking when I bought it, but it was delicious nonetheless.

February 26 - LIGHT
I wanted to go outside and take a photo of the moon (moonlight!) and I asked The Man to switch off the kitchen light so I could get a photo of the moon without light contamination.
Clearly he pays attention to me.

February 25 - CUT
I am going back over my FMS photos and writing a little blurb about each one.
I've come to this photo and I have no idea what the prompt was (I since looked on the FMS blog and saw that it was 'cut').
I remember that I tried to get a photo of The Man cutting some paper and the paper dropping to the ground, but he kept doing it with our messy messy kitchen in the background and it looked shizen, so in the end I got sick of it all and took a photo of one of the bits of paper.
I should have gotten Honey to cut something. She loves scissors.

February 24 - HALF
This funny lady was very happy to pose for this photograph. She thought it was HILARIOUS that I'd chopped her in half.
As you can see, I've learnt from my last Fauxtoshop effort and actually put my camera onto a flat surface before taking my photos, but the light changed so quickly that you can still see that it's two photos. Maybe I will try another tricky photo next month.

This is not a photo bomb

The Man has challenged me to only drink water and green tea this week because last night I threatened him and the midgets with ONLY CLEAN FOODS because I quit Coca Cola at New Years and I'm no lighter now than what I was then, so obviously I'm making up for it in other ways (I suspect in Lindt balls which are my new favourite thing ever).
So today I'm eating porridge with about a quarter teaspoon of brown sugar and green tea. It is an
exciting meal!
Yeah.
So does anyone know any good breakfast ideas? Because when I was a kid I'd love porridge for breakfast but now I'm getting over it quickly.
I'm thinking I could go some vegemite toast - what's the low carb clean version of that?

Feb 23 - THIS IS WHERE I RELAX!
In my bed. Sometimes I read murder mysteries like Kathy Reichs. Sometimes I watch murder mysteries like the Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries on TV. Relaxing.

Feb 22 - AN ACT OF KINDNESS
One of the ladies at my work brought us in some Boston bun for our afternoon tea.

Feb 21 - FUNNY
I've been going to roller derby training a lot lately and I've used up all my 'exercise clothes' (aka clothes that I don't care if they get manky and ruined by falling over in them and rubbing them all over the floor).
Tonight I went to the last of a series of self defence classes and I'd run out of shorts to wear, so I borrowed The Man's swimming shorts which have been with him since before we'd even met. The Man is skinnier than I. Halfway through the session I was thinking how the pants felt more roomy and how somehow I must have dropped a few kilos off my backside during the training session. Then someone said that my pants had torn a bit, and they just got worse and worse as the session continued.
The instructor asked me if they were likely to fall off. I decided that if they did decide to fall off, I'd go home wrapped in one of the flags that were hanging in the training hall.
It was very lucky that I was wearing my too-big roller derby shirt as it sort of disguised my gleaming white leg that was hanging out of my pants.

Feb 20 - PEACE
Buddy is a busy busy little man, and after a tonne of activities, the first time he settled down for a rest (and to give me some peace and quiet) was bedtime when he passed out as you can see above.
When I posted this on the FMS FB page, I was complimented on my excellent colour matching (see all the greens that tie the picture together?). It was totally my intention and had nothing to do with me having everything in metrosexual colours for any future ninjas of either gender...

Feb 19 - FEET
This is Honey's left foot*. When she was born, she had a positional talipes calcaneus:
Positional: It was muscular and caused by the way she was squished while she was cooking.
I had something called IUGR which means she was too squashed when she was in my belly.
Talipes: It is a type of club foot - but not the type you generally see with the person's foot turned into the middle
Calcaneus: It involved the muscles in her heel.

Source
Honey's foot was just like the one in the middle of the top row. We called it her 'duck foot'.
Thankfully because the cause (being mashed up in utero) was removed, her foot eventually relaxed and now if you didn't know that she had a club foot, you couldn't tell now, although her health nurse said she'd never be an Olympic sprinter. Pfft. Like I could afford to send her all over the globe as an athlete.

I realised after posting this photo that I had photographed the wrong foot. Meh.

Feb 18 - MAGIC
I am a lefty, and while looking for useful teacher-type items, I found $3 whiteboard CRAYONS at The Reject Shop. I had a go at using them, and not only are they cheaper than whiteboard markers, they don't wipe off the board when my silly left hand rubs over what I've just written. They are truly magical and if you are also left-handed, you need to go and buy some.
BUY SOME NOW!

Feb 17 - VEGETABLE
This is a close-up of cauliflower. I wanted The Man to mash it for me instead of potatoes (following on from my healthy, low-carb eating regime). He did not mash this cauliflower and made me chips instead. He is an enabler.

Feb 16 - CREATE
I usually love to make things, cook things and do things, but today I don't think I've done anything creative at all - so here is a mask that I decorated for a masquerade ball that I went to a few years ago. It must have been 2012, because Honey was there, but Buddy wasn't.

I escaped my house to buy a chai latte for this prompt. It was delicious, and I also got some scones and jam and cream. Yum.

Feb 14 - HEART
Look at this beautiful creature!
"Smile" I said, but she was too distracted by the sparkly shoes in the shop window to pay any attention to me.
The lollipop was from a fundraiser for HeartKids. Buddy and I weren't allowed to have any, but then Honey went to sleep, and we took turns eating her lollipop. Buddy stuck his tongue out and I'd dab the lollipop onto his tongue and that tiny tiny bit of sugar made him hyper and crazy. He's a funny man.

Feb 12 - OUT + ABOUT
Tonight I was out at roller derby training. I've had to leave my skates out to air because it was hot and I didn't wear my socks. And skates are a bit funny and you can't just throw them into the washing machine when they need a freshen up.
About my skates: They are purple Suregrip Rebels with Atom Poison wheels, Sourpuss laces, Gumball toe stops and Miss Demeanour Hello Kitty toe guards. They are as heavy as a brick, but they do the job and I like them.

Feb 10 - I AM...
Bruised. Very bruised. This is the top of my left leg (not my backside as others have claimed). I bashed the only non-meaty part of my leg on the tap in the bath when I was bathing with Honey. It was painful and I cried. Honey was quite concerned. It's gone through a rainbow of colours and looks a lot worse than it really is.

I got home from work and found this lady in my bed. This is what The Man gets up to while I am at work. I'm not sure I want to know the details about how she got there.

This is the Legacy Garden at the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne. Yes this photo is crooked, but look! I managed to get all the spray looking like water spray using my little mobile phone camera. Awesome eh?

Feb 7 - UTENSIL
As Buddy boy is demonstrating, the best utensils are your hands, and really, that's what they used way back in the stone age before knives and forks were used.
But then again, they used sharp rocks - but before they though to sharpen the rocks, I am sure they just used their fingers.

Feb 6 - C IS FOR...
Candy hearts! I did go to the Sugar Stop at Southern Cross Railway Station to buy every single lolly (or Candy) beginning with C, but in the end I just used these candy hearts, which were quickly gobbled up afterwards by Honey. It was lucky the photo came out decently in the first place, hey?

Feb 6 - SQUARE
I found this square amongst all the rectangles at Southern Cross Railway Station. It's on the landing? between the platform and concourse levels and I almost caused a traffic jam by stopping in the middle of the stairs in the peak hour rush, but anything for art hey?

Feb 4 - CHILDHOOD
These videos give you a fair idea of what I used to watch when I was a kid. What is missing is 'Dot and the Kangaroo' and 'Muppet Babies' which I used to watch at my Nanna and Grandpa's, and 'Dumbo' which we used to watch at our neighbours, who had a super modern video machine.

Feb 3 - SOMETHING ORANGE
This photo was so tricky to do as everything that I found that was orange wouldn't photograph properly until Honey's bedtime when we were reading Peppa Pig. I may have emphasised the orange a bit, but I think it looks good.

Feb 2 - FAVOURITE
This is my favourite wearing a chain with the names of my other two favourites.
He is all shy because his photo is being put on the internet, and didn't want me to put his '*non-existent* man boobs on the internet.
